Rochor

Rochor

Known as a multicultural district, Rochor is home to several popular arts and culture institutions, as well as traditional businesses. This area is also one of the greenest in Singapore, with a wide choice of parks and open spaces. In addition, residents of Rochor can enjoy the vibrant arts and culture scene, with several art schools, colleges, and institutions located nearby. The iconic multi-coloured Rochor Centre complex is a highlight, but is slated for demolition in 2018. Discover more here.

The mixed-use development M @ Middle Road is located on a major artery in Rochor and promotes a holistic lifestyle. The development features five22 units, divided into one to three-bedroom configurations, with adaptable furniture, sliding doors, moveable countertops, concealed storage space, and shifting partitions. The units come with an indoor garden, 50-metre swimming pool, rain garden, and social club with a baking studio.

The Rochor Center was popular among Malaysians during the eighties, and the area was nicknamed Little Johor. At the time, a Malaysian-registered cab could be flagged down on Ban Street. Similarly, the center houses a fortune-telling machine, weighing machines, and other nostalgic items. The district is one of the fastest-rising areas in Singapore. You’ll find that many residents are flocking to the area, and property values are soaring. More about Kampong Glam here.
